Intro
To whomever it may concern…
No, wait, that’s too formal. How about we start simple.
Hello everyone. My name is Frida, but you can call me Agent FVF. Welcome to my first-ever blog.
I decided to start writing for two main reasons. The first reason is that I want to practice my writing. You see, I’m a journalist — well, I’m studying journalism — and writing is at the heart of everything we do. It doesn’t matter if we start small or jump straight into the major leagues; the important thing is to start somewhere. For me, that “somewhere” is here, my own little corner of the internet. This blog will serve as my personal and informal space, where I can share thoughts, lessons, and experiences.
The second reason is that I also want to start building a platform for myself. I want a space where I can report on topics that interest me, start meaningful conversations, and engage with others who share similar passions. Think of this as a safe space, one for curiosity, creativity, and dialogue.
My Mission
Ultimately, my goal is to establish a platform where I can launch my journalistic career. In return, I get to share with you stories I find interesting — ones worthy of coverage and discussion.
There’s something I want to get off my chest right away: I’ll never hold bias when covering a story. Part of being a top-tier journalist is learning to report without taking sides. If I ever did that, I’d be no different from one of those talking heads from a particular news network (not going to name names…*cough, cough Fox). My goal is to provide neutral and fair perspectives on everything I cover. And whenever I share my own opinion, I’ll always back it up with research and credible sources.
I plan on doing this the right way. Because, if I didn’t — if I handled this carelessly — I wouldn’t be a journalist…I’d be an influencer.
No thanks. I’m too in debt from college.
My Philosophy
Being a journalist isn’t and should never be just about the headline. It’s not some race to see who can break a story first. Little-known secret amongst us… the person who gets there first usually gets it wrong. Like I said…influencers.
For me, and for anyone who calls themselves a journalist, it should always come down to three things: curiosity, empathy, and accountability. Journalism is about asking the right questions. Even when the answers make people uncomfortable.
Whether you’re the first or last person to cover a story doesn’t matter. What only matters is that you cover it with integrity. My goal isn’t to shout the loudest. It’s to listen the closest.
What You Can Expect
I’m the type of person who finds something interesting and runs with it until I’ve said everything I need to say. To someone who doesn’t know me personally, you might call it a hyper fixation… or autism. To me, I call it Investigative journalism. Well… sort of.
Most of what I write will focus on social and political topics. Although I don’t really see those as separate things. Everything social is political, and everything political is inherently social. Feel free to agree, disagree, or argue with me in the comments. That’s part of the fun.
Because I deal with heavier topics, a lot of my posts require a ton of research. I can’t promise a strict upload schedule, especially if the topic gets deep or, as I like to say, lore-heavy. But I’ll always do my best to keep you in the loop whenever something’s in the works.
And while I’ll always aim for professionalism in my reporting, I also want to keep things light. The news can be overwhelmingly bleak — I’d like this blog to remind you that journalism can still be insightful and even a little funny (if you let it be). My goal? To make you think, laugh, and maybe say, “Hey, this kid’s a goof, but damn, they’re pretty clever.”
Community Guidelines
It’s not to say that I don’t have faith in my audience. I do. However, with everything in life, there are certain rules that one must follow.
That being said, healthy debate is welcome here.
Hate speech, trolling, or disinformation isn’t. Please don’t do that stuff here. Save me the trouble of having to moderate this blog like a Discord server.
I believe journalism should encourage conversation, not chaos, so let’s keep things civil, curious, and grounded in facts. Feel free to disagree thoughtfully. To quote all my English teachers ever, “Just make sure to cite your sources,” especially when making claims. Also, most importantly, treat everyone with respect.
Any repeat offenders will be muted or removed.
What Comes Next
And so, we’ve reached the end of the first post, and I haven’t even discussed anything yet.
Not gonna lie, I’m excited (and equally terrified) to start this new journey.
I really hope some of you will decide to stick around. I promise stories that challenge, inform, and possibly even entertain you along the way.
Here’s to the start of a new journey
Agent FVF signing off (for now).
